Viva owners gobble up Italian Kitchen

Viva RistoranteThe owners of Glasgow’s Viva Ristorante have acquired the city’s Italian Kitchen in a £1 million deal.

Richard Laciok (far left) and Marco Mozzachiodi received a substantial funding package from Clydesdale Bank’ to assist with buying the Merchant City premises, with the deal delivered by relationship manager Peter Burton.

The previous owner of the 90-cover restaurant sold up to open a new business.  All 22 staff have been retained.

Mr Laciok said: “When the restaurant came on to the market we had to move quickly to secure the sale. Fortunately, Clydesdale Bank recognised it as a good opportunity to expand and supported our growth ambitions.”

Robert Gibson, head of Clydesdale Bank’s regional business and private banking centre in Glasgow, said: “Richard and Marco have built Viva Ristorante into a highly successful business.

“We have no doubts that they will make a similar success of The Italian Kitchen and look forward to working in partnership with them as they continue to develop the business.

Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks became the first to partner with the British Business Bank under its ENABLE Guarantees scheme.

Up to £125m of new lending by Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks, guaranteed by the British Business Bank, will help more small businesses achieve their growth ambitions.
