Foodie fair at Summerhall
Beer to brownies, visitors savour a foodie day out
Summerhall in Edinburgh was packed for the Savour foodie fair as visitors turned up to sample and buy from a range of independent restaurants, bakers, pudding makers, craft brewers, distillers and cocktail mixers.
The annual event aims to celebrate the best and most innovative Scottish artisan produce and this year included an even bigger number of exhibitors.
They included La Petite Mort, one of Edinburgh’s newest restaurants, and Hammond Charcuterie, run by Rachel Hammond, who is claimed to be the only female butcher in Scotland,
Experts from many of them were on hand to deliver workshops on everything from brewing the perfect cup of tea to the perfect beer.
Among the 27 exhibitors was Woods Brownie, the hand made chocolate brownie company run by Kenneth Cairns from his shop in Juniper Green.
“This a great marketing opportunity for us. We seem to be generating a lot of interest,” he said.
