Marketing Society Scotland Awards
Rice makes Glasgow a winning entry
Updated with full list of winners: The Marketing Society of the Year awards recognised the industry’s achievements over the past year with Wire Media and Edinburgh City Council among the big winners on the night.
Marketing Star of the Year was Tom Rice from Glasgow City Marketing Bureau for its People Make Glasgow campaign which the judges felt captured the public mood in a big year for the city.
Wire Media experienced a particularly successful year as the lead agency for Marketing Edinburgh after organising a number of high profile events such as Edinburgh Fashion Week. It has since worked on Spa in the City which was held in St Andrew Square and the West End.
The three Rising Star Awards – Agency, Marketing and Creative – were presented to Joanna Harrod, Digitas LBi; Lynsey McMeechan, VisitScotland and Raych Campbell of STV respectively.
Big sporting events – the Commonwealth Games and Ryder Cup – featured in the list of awards. Standard Life Investments won Gold for its sponsorship of The Ryder Cup at Gleneagles.
The drinks industry also played a key part in the night’s celebration, the Gold Star being awarded to The Famous Grouse for its Famous Moments campaign, while Tennent’s won Star Marketing Team of the Year.
