Six promoted to partner at CMS

Caryn PenleyLaw firm CMS has promoted six staff to partners across its three offices in Scotland. They work in the firm’s real estate, dispute resolution, energy and construction and employment practices.

Angus MacRae, from the firm’s Edinburgh office and his Glasgow-based colleague Chris Rae become partners in the real estate practice while CMS’ dispute resolution practice has promoted Alison Gow to the partnership. Alison, Angus and Chris joined the firm 12 months ago as part of the combination with Dundas & Wilson.

Aberdeen-based Valerie Allan and Glasgow-based Christine Worthington from the firm’s energy, projects and construction practice are made partner along with Gillian MacLellan, also from the firm’s Glasgow office, who joins the partnership as part of CMS’ employment team.

Caryn Penley (pictured), Executive Partner for Scotland at CMS, said: “These partner promotions, which are among the 10 announced in the UK and 39 announced globally by CMS this year, reflect the significant growth and development across the firm in Scotland one year on from the successful combination with Dundas & Wilson.”

Women account for more than 46% of the firm’s global promotions, with seven in the UK.
