More head for exit door at Scotsman titles
More departures at The Scotsman titles as Sports Editor Colin Leslie and chief sports writer Stuart Bathgate follow Evening News veteran Bill Lothian out of Orchard Brae where one staffer said even the new smaller newsroom was beginning to look a little under-populated.
Glasgow based reporter Craig Brown has also gone, as has books editor David Robinson and business writer Dominic Jeff. Deputy editor Kenny Farquharson will also be leaving after being poached by The Times in Scotland.
They add to a year-long list of departures which includes sports writer Tom English, political editor Eddie Barnes, news editor Chris Marks, foreign editor Rob Corbidge, columnist and commentator George Kerevan, picture editor Alan Macdonald, business correspondent Peter Ranscombe, feature writers Alice Wylie and Ruth Walker. Several photographers, including Ian Rutherford, and production staffers, including Bob Thomson, have also left.
Meanwhile, staff were stunned to open the paper and see a full page advert for the i, the Independent’s lightweight version, complete with money off vouchers.
