Esh opens in Livingston and hires 15 staff

Esh border freeA company currently preparing Gullane Golf Course for this year’s Scottish Open, has opened a Livingston office and is hiring 15 staff.

Esh Border Construction, part of Esh Group following its acquisition last year of Border Construction, is also working on two social housing projects in Hawick and three contracts for NHS Lothian. The combined value of the work is £10.5 million.

The Livingston operation will be a base for business creating an initial five jobs with 10 more expected in the coming months.

Simon Phillips, regional managing director for Scotland, described the latest developments as “a great step for our business”.

The new Livingston office and the existing office in Earlston are managed by John Moore, construction director for Scotland.

“While our new contract wins are helping reinforce our position in the south of Scotland, we are looking at potential projects in the Central Belt. This year it’s about building our Scottish presence from our Scottish offices and our Scottish team,” said Mr Phillips.

“We have already made significant progress having made some impressive senior appointments with vast experience, including Donald Brown who has joined us as estimating manager based at our new Livingston office.”

Esh Border Construction will also roll out its Esh Added Value programmes, ‘Building my Skills’ and ‘Esh Communities’ which help youngsters in education and local community charities and groups with funding.
