Property pair re-launch IME in Edinburgh market
Two property agents have combined to re-launch an Edinburgh-based venture that is changing its focus from residential to commercial property.
IME (Ian McDonald Enterprises) was founded in 1989 by Ian McDonald who has teamed up with former Almondale Group managing director, Iain Mercer, who is taking up the role of managing director.
The pair have vast experience in commercial property, but also share the scars of having endured a tough time with banks during the recent financial crisis.
“In Iain I saw someone who had been through very similar experiences to myself in terms of our respective battles with the banks in the last few years,” said Mr McDonald.
“However, that’s firmly behind us and we are building for the future with a team full of entrepreneurial spirit and ambition. Iain has joined me to drive the business forward and re-shape it for the modern commercial property marketplace,” he added.
Mr Mercer said: “The recession has changed the way people not only think about property but who they use to market it for them. We also take the view that business is becoming increasingly online focused and all forms of social media are vital components to our strategy.
With the property market finally looking like it’s starting to turn a corner, we believe there is a niche to be filled where businesses can receive a proactive property service. We are here to help businesses.”
IME has relocated its headquarters to Home Street in Edinburgh’s Tollcross area.
