Barr offers tips of the trade at free seminars

Kelvin HallA  Scottish building firms is hosting a series of free seminars providing advice to small companies and social enterprises on best practice.

Barr Construction, which is behind the £60 million redevelopment of the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow (pictured), will hold the first at the venue this Friday (6 Feb) covering health and safety.

The Paisley-based company will provide marketing, HR and construction specialists who will explore topics such as carbon footprinting, performance management and how to make the most of the media.

Paul Griffin, construction director, said: “Kelvin Hall is such an important building to Glasgow’s community and as a local construction firm we wanted to work closely with the community and the local businesses.

“Working with our sub-contractors, we will be offering Glasgow’s businesses the opportunity to hear not only from our own experts but from industry specialists in marketing, digital media and HR, making them great for a variety of business.

Friday’s session will cover pre-planning and procurement as well as issues learned from London 2012 and Glasgow 2014.
