Grace joins Clydesdale Bank board
Before joining Aegon, Mr Grace was the managing director of SME banking with Lloyds TSB and chief executive of Barclays Insurance Services. He has also held senior roles with Sage Group and GE Capital.
An MBA graduate of Henley Management College, his other roles include being non-executive director of the Association of British Insurers. He is a former non-executive director of Scottish Financial Enterprise.
Jim Pettigrew, Chairman of Clydesdale Bank, said: “We are delighted to welcome Adrian to further strengthen the boards. He has a first-class track record with outstanding business knowledge and experience which make him a great fit as we continue to build a better bank for our customers.”
Mr Grace’s appointment is the latest at Clydesdale over the past six months. They include the appointment of Mr Pettigrew as chairman in August last year. In October, Dr Teresa Robson- Capps became a non-executive director.
Prior to that, non-executive director David Allvey was appointed chairman of the boards’ audit committee. Debbie Crosbie was appointed as an executive director.
The bank’s UK executive committee has also been strengthened in recent months with the appointment of Ian Smith as chief financial officer and David Gillespie as distribution director.
It was announced earlier this week that chief executive David Thorburn will step down this year.
