Former RBS spinner Gaffney joins Charlotte Street
The PR outfit, which is a year old, also announces that Sharon Nimmo, formerly Sharon Ward, a former journalist for The Scotsman and Sunday Herald, is taking a sabbatical to complete her PhD studies.
Gaffney has recently left his post as head of external communications at Williams & Glyn – the new bank being carved out of RBS.
He began his career with Beattie Media, which became Beattie Communications. He joins Charlotte Street as associate partner and has experience of working at RBS during the financial meltdown. He will be reunited with Andrew Wilson, a partner at Charlotte Street, who was a key figure in the RBS communications team at the time.
Charlotte Street Partners has also hired Laura Leslie on secondment from TSB. She has worked in the communications teams at both Lloyds Banking Group and TSB and played a leading role in TSB’s launch and subsequent successful IPO.
Andrew Pyle, an associate at Charlotte Street Partners is joining TSB, as part of his long-term career development.
