ScottishPower> GAS BILLS: ScottishPower is to cut gas bills by 4.8% or an average £33 per year in response to falling wholesale prices.
> SUPPLIERS WANTED: Contractors from Scotland and Northern Ireland are being invited to a meeting with Stewart Milne Homes to find out how they can win work from the housebuilder. An event is being held at the Palm Court Hotel in Aberdeen on 27 January and key key decision makers from the company will be in attendance.
> PRIVATE EQUITY: Maven Capital Partners has invested a further £2.2 million to support current investee company Crawford Scientific’s acquisition of Manchester-based Hall Analytical Laboratories (Hall). The tops up £3.9m invested in the Glasgow company last August.
> OIL CONTRACT: Petrofac, the oil services company, has secured a $4 billion contract from Kuwait Oil Company alongside a Greek partner.
> FOOD ICON DIES: Ena Baxter, who joined the family food firm with her husband in 1952, has died aged 90.
