City property to become 'business hotel'
£2.5m makeover for Scotland’s biggest offices
Owners the Moorfield Group and the Glasgow-based joint venture partner, Resonance Capital, will spend the money on transforming the 70,000 sq ft Skypark 5 into what it claims is “a new concept” offering two options of contemporary loft style open plan space with exposed ceilings and brickwork and feature wall finishes and a traditional office fit out.
On completion rental rates are expected to be from £12.50 a sq ft.
Skypark comprises six buildings, totalling circa 560,000 sq. ft., with a workforce of almost 3,700 people in office, retail, studio accommodation. The complex site is undergoing a multi-million pound refurbishment to reposition the main entrance and upgrade the reception areas to create Scotland’s first ‘business hotel’ concept.
Moorfield Group acquired Skypark in November 2010. Joint letting agents for Skypark are Ryden and Jones Lang LaSalle.
