Whoops! So good we told you twice
Herald editor Magnus Llewellyn had to issue an apology to readers today after the paper published a page from Monday’s issue.
Magnus blamed production problems and he will have the sympathy of many in the industry who have suffered similar cock-ups.
Few outside the print world understand how fast-moving it can be, and few of those in it expect to get it right every time. The ability to start with a blank sheet of paper every day and produce a newspaper is still something to be admired, especially at times of stretched staffing resources.
The page 13 episode will irritate Magnus for some time, but he’s far from alone. The Daily Express once published the entire racing pages from the previous day. At least every punter would have been able to pick all the winners.
