Relocation for tech company

Software firm takes space in Princes Street

sense L-R Zankar Sevak (VP Engineerm co-founder), Rob P…, co-founder)Software company Sensewhere has secured office space in Princes St, Edinburgh.

The company is sub-leasing 4,360 sq ft on the top floor above Next, the retail chain which leases the whole building. It is let until February 2023, which is the end of Next’s lease term.

After securing significant investment from China to grow the business, sensewhere is relocating from a 2,000 sq ft property in Kittle Yards, Causewayside.

Rob Palfreyman, chief executive, said Sensewhere has expanded because of increased interest in its technologies.

“The new office provides a sound base from which to further develop our software and support our partnerships,” he said.

“We are really pleased to have found premises that meet our expansion needs while also being in an iconic location with inspiring views.”

Next was jointly represented on the deal by commercial property agents Bilfinger GVA and Culverwell and the floor was fully refurbished by building surveyors Malcolm Hollis.

Peter Fraser of Bilfinger GVA said: “It goes without saying that the property is in a prominent location, and with sensewhere joining Sub Surface Global and Next as tenants only the third floor is still available to let.

“Next will carry out a full refurbishment of this floor and are willing to deliver turn-key solutions and flexible lease terms, which are particularly important given the lack of good quality stock available in Edinburgh at the moment.”
