Firms pitch for six-figure contract

ScottishPower reviewing UK-wide PR account

scottishpowerScottishPower is due to announce which agency will be appointed to run its UK-wide public relations account.

Several firms have been invited to pitch for what is believed to be a six-figure annual contract, one of the biggest on offer from a Scotland-based company.

Leith-based Stripe Communications is understood to be re-pitching for the account which it has held since 2013. On that occasion it won the work against four rivals.

As well as providing media relations for key divisions of the energy company, the brief also included work for the charitable organisations, ScottishPower Energy People Trust and the ScottishPower Green Energy Trust.

A decision is expected from ScottishPower in the next few weeks.

  • Lord Tim Bell has resigned as chairman of Bell Pottinger, 30 years after he founded the agency, and is forming a PR business called Sans Frontières, the name of one of its businesses.
