McLean bows out
Dorrian takes full control of Acumen
Kevin Dorrian has bought out his partner Alistair McLean’s share in Edinburgh-based Acumen PR after Mr McLean decided he wanted to retire.
The consultancy, which works with clients based throughout the UK and overseas, was formed in 2002 and advises companies and organisations in a range of sectors.
It has a particularly strong track record in working with organisations in the emerging technologies and innovation, bioscience, professional services, higher academia and the oil & gas sectors.
Mr Dorrian (pictured) said: “The focus will continue to be on those sectors in which we have developed a good reputation and on supporting clients across traditional and digital communications channels.
“Alistair and I first met and worked together 25 years ago in a previous consultancy and he has to be considered one of the ‘safest pair of hands’ in the Scottish PR industry.
“He has helped build the Acumen brand to become a strong mid-tier PR consultancy and he is widely respected by clients and journalists alike.”
Mr McLean (left) said: “I know that Acumen clients are in very good hands and that is important. I have been in PR for 36 years, having been a tourist officer for different areas of Scotland prior to that.
“I continue to find public relations a fulfilling profession, working with interesting clients and good journalists, but it’s now time to find out if I could still be a golf professional.”
